In the Cherkasy region, a mother threw her newborn daughter into the garbage

A tragedy occurred in Cherkasy region that shook the local community. A 25-year-old woman gave birth to a child on her own in the village of Bilousivka, Zolotoni district, and later put her newborn daughter in a bag and threw it into a garbage can. The baby did not survive.

An employee who was taking out garbage reported the creepy find. The man found the baby's body in a plastic bag. Law enforcement officers were called to the scene and opened a pre-trial investigation.

"The woman was not registered with the doctors and gave birth at home. After giving birth, she decided to get rid of the child, putting it in a bag and leaving it in a garbage can," the police of the Cherkasy region reported.

The body of the newborn girl was sent for forensic examination to determine the exact cause of death. According to the investigation, the woman acted independently and did not seek medical help.

The case was qualified under Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - intentional murder by the mother of her newborn child. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of restriction of liberty or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to five years.

The local community is shocked by this case. Residents of Bilousivka claim that they did not suspect that the woman was pregnant, and also note that she did not have similar problems before. This tragedy once again raises the issue of social support for mothers in crisis situations. Lack of awareness, fear of judgment or lack of help can push women to fatal steps.

Law enforcement officers call on citizens to be attentive to others, especially in small communities, where timely support and help is important.
