The security forces exposed and prevented the terrorist act planned in the Chernivtsi region. Two locals , at the instructions of the Russian special services, installed an explosive device that was to be detotonated when the police arrive.
This was reported in the office of the Attorney General on Tuesday.
Two persons were notified of suspicion of illegal production of an explosive device and an attempt on committing a terrorist act (Part 2 of Article 263-1, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
According to the investigation, residents of Chernivtsi region, acting on the instructions of hostile special services and under the guidance of a Russian curator, made a homemade explosive device.
According to the SBU, two local drug dealers aged 17 and 18 were the persons involved.
On February 1, 2025, suspects were reported that explosives were laid in an abandoned building of one of the cities of the region. To fix the crime, they installed a nearby device for visual observation.
According to the plan of the Russian special services, the trap was envisaged: abandoned building, anonymous call for "102" about the crime and the arrival of the police. As soon as the camera would record law enforcement officers inside, the explosives had to activate.
Thanks to the operational actions of the security officers, the terrorist attack managed to prevent, and the performers - to detain.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved.
