The Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv has authorized a search of the office of the Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration, Maryna Solovyova. The investigative actions are related to preliminary suspicions that she committed two criminal offenses at once - official forgery (Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and illegal smuggling of persons across the state border of Ukraine (Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to our sources, the investigation is considering the version of Solovyova's possible participation in a scheme that involved forging documents to facilitate the travel abroad of individuals, possibly under the guise of heritage protection specialists or scientists.
The official herself declared "political persecution" and called the case fabricated. On social networks, she is already commenting on the situation as an attempt to put pressure on herself and discredit her.

However, this rhetoric seems predictable: practically every Kyiv City State Administration official who comes under investigation immediately speaks of political pressure. This has become an almost standard defense strategy for those suspected of corruption in the capital's authorities.
Recall that we previously wrote that Marina Solovyova was vacationing in Spain instead of a business trip.
