The Center for countering disinformation told what is actually happening in the Kursk region

Active fighting continues in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their positions despite intense assaults by Russian troops. Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Counter-Disinformation Center, said the Russians are trying to use dry weather conditions to regain control of the area before seasonal rains make maneuvering more difficult.

Kovalenko noted that the situation on this part of the front is very dynamic. Battles take place in wooded terrain, which allows the sides to actively maneuver, but at the same time makes it difficult to maintain stable defense lines. Ukrainian troops partially regained control over the lost positions, but the Russians continue to direct convoys to new assaults.

"The situation is constantly changing, and it is important not to draw final conclusions. "Heavy battles continue, and Russian military leaders are trying to reduce the discussion of this topic due to failures on the battlefield," Kovalenko commented.

Russian troops are trying to speed up offensive operations to take advantage of dry roads. The approaching rainy season will lead to muddy soil, which will significantly complicate the movement of equipment and the conduct of military operations. This applies not only to military operations in Ukraine, but also to Russia's attempts to regain territory in the Kursk region.

Since the beginning of October, Russian sources note the deterioration of weather conditions, which limits the possibilities for maneuvers. However, the Russians continue to increase pressure on Ukrainian positions in the hope of seizing strategic territories before the onset of bad weather.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to contain the offensive and successfully restore lost positions, but the situation remains tense and volatile.
