From now on, Ukrainians will be able to store their education diplomas — from school certificates to academic degrees — in the “Diya” application. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a corresponding resolution, as reported by People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko.
According to the MP, electronic diplomas will have full legal force, similar to physical documents. This means that users of "Diya" will be able to present a digital document instead of a paper one - for admission, employment, or any official procedures where confirmation of education is required.
Documents will be generated automatically based on records in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (UEDB). Therefore, if data about education is already in this database, it will appear in "Diya" without additional requests.
The new feature covers a wide range of educational documents: school certificates, bachelor's, master's, specialist's diplomas, as well as documents on postgraduate education and scientific degrees. This will significantly simplify access to educational evidence both in Ukraine and abroad.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs says that the appearance of diplomas in "Diya" is another step towards a fully digital state. It also reduces the risk of document forgery, as all records will be synchronized with the official state database.
