On Thursday, July 24, the People's Deputy of Ukraine from the Voice Party Yaroslav Rushchyshyn was killed near the village of Babukhov in Ivano-Frankivsk region. The accident happened around 21:45-the parliamentarian was driving the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and, according to preliminary data, did not cope with the control. The motorcycle encountered a tractor moving in the opposite direction.
According to the publication "Your City" with reference to the loved ones of the deceased, Rushchyshyn died during transportation to a medical institution.
Yaroslav Rushchyshyn was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation, secretary of the Committee on Economic Development. He came to politics as a well -known businessman, cultural figure and producer. His activities covered both business and public initiatives-Rushchyshyn was a co-founder of the Dziga Art Association, the Lviv Business School (LVBS), and the honorary senator of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
In the 1990s, he became one of the drivers of the Lviv Cultural Scene: together with Markian Ivashchyshyn, he was a producer of the band "Dead Rooster", "Tea Fans Club", "Dziga Jazz Quartet", as well as the early projects of "Ocean Elsa" and Ruslana.
In 2019-2021 he headed the Lviv Regional Organization of the Voice Party.
