In Ivano-Frankivsk, another scandal in the field of housing construction is raised. According to Vitaliy Chernenky, 17 families who have lived in an apartment building on Khikov Street for more than two years, can be left without housing due to a dubious scheme associated with the developer Alexander Vovchuk for over two years.
According to Chernenky, the land on which the house is located, in 2023 became the property of the private enterprise "Elland", headed by the father of the developer. After that, the company appealed to the Uhryniv Territorial Community to change the address of the facility from Khikov Street to Bohun Street.
Changing the address at first glance may seem a technical detail, but in this case it has serious legal consequences. After all, according to new documents, an apartment building has actually turned into a private estate, which avoids certain provisions of legislation on apartment housing.
The consequence of such a conflict is a theoretical possibility of re -selling already populated apartments. Despite the fact that residents have documents on ownership, prescribed and paid utilities, their right to housing can be questioned.
Residents go to law enforcement officers and prepare lawsuits. At present, neither party has officially commented on the situation, but community representatives are concerned and demanding a public investigation.
The situation highlights another weakness in the system of control over developers and points to the need to reform the mechanisms of state registration of real estate.
