In the Saltiv district of Kharkiv, a serious emergency occurred: during a verbal quarrel, one of the men threw an RGD-5 grenade from the balcony. The incident led to the wounding of a 34-year-old man. The police detained a 43-year-old suspect, who is currently in custody.
In Kharkiv, a man was detained for throwing a grenade from a balcony at an opponent during a verbal conflict, KORD was involved, reported the GUNP in the Kharkiv region.
The event took place in the Saltiv district.
"The 43-year-old intruder, while on the balcony of his apartment, during a verbal conflict with a 34-year-old man who was standing near the house, threw an RGD-5 grenade in his direction. As a result of the explosion, the victim received shrapnel injuries to his back and legs," the police said.
According to reports, the emergency medical team took him to the hospital. "Medics provided qualified assistance to the victim in a timely manner and saved his life," the police said.
"In connection with the event, a police operation was launched. Soldiers of the special unit of the KORD police detained the intruder. He turned out to be a man repeatedly convicted of property crimes and illegal drug trafficking," the police said.
The remains of the ammunition were removed by the police and sent for examination.
The figure was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, he was charged with suspicion under part 1 of Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) and Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 1 of Art. 115 (attempted murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of up to 15 years.
The investigation establishes the origin of the ammunition.
