The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office has submitted to the court an indictment against a local resident, who is accused of collaborationist activities, encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, and justification of Russia's armed aggression. The actions of the accused are qualified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in particular under Part 6 of Article 111-1 and Part 2 of Article 436-2.
As the investigation established, in August 2022, while in temporarily occupied Kherson, the defendant joined the "Streets of Kherson" propaganda campaign, which was financed by the Russian military and the occupation administration.
In particular, the man involved young people from the village of Tekstilne in creating pro-Russian video content, which was later distributed in the media. The video contained explicit calls to support the occupation authorities and the region's accession to Russia.
In addition, the suspect used his own car to transport the participants of the action to designated locations. He also independently applied paint in the colors of the Russian tricolor on fences and walls of buildings. Together with others, he organized the distribution of printed materials with anti-Ukrainian propaganda and slander against the Ukrainian authorities.
The investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region. The accused is currently facing severe punishment under the law for collaboration and aiding the enemy during armed aggression.
