The House of Representatives of the US Congress has approved the HR4016 bill, which provides for the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine. According to 353 congressmen voted in favor of the Chamber of House of Don Beacon, 76 - opposed.
The document provides for the continuation of funding for defense support of Ukraine in the conditions of continuing Russian aggression. Wide two -party support made it possible to advance the bill to the next stage - consideration in the Senate.
In the upper house of Congress, the project can either be approved unchanged, or corrections, or completely reject. If the Senate approves the bill, it will be sent to the US President.
Against the background of legislative processes, US President Donald Trump has publicly changed Ukraine's support. He recently declared a new military assistance package, which, in particular, includes missiles in Patriott's air defense systems that are already heading for Ukraine.
At the same time, Trump stressed that he did not communicate with Vladimir Putin after his statements, but urged the Russian President to agree to ceasefire before the new US sanctions were entered into force. According to Trump, he also does not support the idea of Ukrainian attacks on Moscow.
In recent months, there has been a shift in the position of Republicans. Previously, some of them have expressed skepticism on the financial support of Kiev, now more and more members of the House of Representatives are involved in supporting the initiatives that are in line with the Trump President.
