The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion of the head of the department of specialized utility company "Kyivteleservice" in the budget of the capital of losses for more than UAH 50 million. It is about the purchase of network equipment for Internet infrastructure in 2023.
In 2023, Kyivteleservice, which subordinates to the KSCA Information and Communication Technologies Department, concluded an agreement with a private company for the supply and setup of network equipment. The total amount of the contract is UAH 172 million.
As the investigation found out, the chairman of the tender committee, which became suspected, did not organize a proper check of market prices for purchased equipment. Because of this, the city has paid the supplier for more than UAH 50 million more than it would be adequate to the tender control.
The actions are qualified under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence, which has caused grave consequences for state interests. Such an offense provides for a sentence in the form of imprisonment of up to five years, with the possibility of depriving the right to occupy certain positions.
The pre -trial investigation is currently underway.
