A new large -scale anti -corruption scandal is being unfolding in Kyiv, which covered the KSCA structures, a number of utility companies and former high -ranking officials. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the investigation has already declared suspicion of eleven involved persons - from directors of departments to officials of the district level. The total amount of damage caused by the suspect exceeds UAH 190 million.
The focus was to investigate systemic abuse, where one corruption scheme complemented the other. It is not only about classic stories with high prices for purchases or fictitious contracts, but about quite specific episodes that influenced the city's life. One of them is the long -term braking of the launch of the subway branch, which has led to losses of more than 160 million hryvnias. Otherwise, we are talking about payments to "dead souls" at the expense of the capital budget.
Among the persons are the former deputy mayor, departments, and KP executives who were responsible for green areas, infrastructure and communication. As the investigation was established, in some cases the funds went to the purchase of goods and services that were not provided, in others - the city property was sold at low cost or calculations were made for deliberately poor quality projects. The main thing for all episodes remains the main thing - the evasion of control, circular bail and blurring of responsibility.
It is interesting that the field of culture also appears in the investigation - the focus was a museum, where the projects did not actually meet the requirements, but were fully paid. Otherwise, the agronomist of the district municipal enterprise agreed acts for the supply of plants that were not in fact.
Several bodies are investigating the case - the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office, the DBR, the Police, the SBU and other law enforcement agencies. Some of the persons were detained, others are being prepared for removal from positions. The investigation is ongoing, and, according to sources, new names may appear in the near future. The law enforcement agencies hint: the investigation is only gaining momentum, and all new links of the capital's power vertical are being in view.
