In Kiev, a scheme of theft of budget funds related to the construction of sports infrastructure is revealed. As a result of the investigation, it became known that in 2020 the director of the children's and youth sports school, subordinate to the city administration, concluded an agreement with the head of a private construction company for the supply and installation of a football site with sanitary facilities.
According to official documents, more than UAH 3 million was paid from the city budget of the contractor. However, the expert inspection later found that the real cost of the equipment purchased is much lower. The difference is over UAH 1.2 million, which were actually withdrawn from the budget due to inflated estimates.
Moreover, the installation works that the firm pledged to perform and have not been completed. That is, despite the money received, the object remained unfinished, and some of the money simply "settled" in the pockets of the persons involved.
Law enforcement officers announced the suspicion of the 38-year-old director of the sports school and the 47-year-old manager of the contracting company. Both are charged with several difficult articles at once:
-
Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 366 - service forgery;
-
Part 5 of Art. 191 - appropriation of other people's property in particularly large sizes.
The persons are threatened with up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Investigative actions are currently underway and the issue of precautionary measure is being resolved.
