As our sources report, a package of documents is being prepared for the next meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against Vitali Klitschko, which provides for the automatic removal from office of even an elected mayor.
According to current legislation, if the mayor is removed, his place should be taken by the secretary of the Kyiv City Council. Until recently, this position was held by the hardliner Volodymyr Bondarenko, but he has now resigned.
According to sources, the Office of the President sought this, understanding that they do not have 61 votes for any of their "own" candidacies for the new secretary of the Kyiv City Council. Therefore, due to the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council, the Office expects to take control of the administration of the capital by the end of May.
As a reminder, yesterday, SBI detectives searched the home of Dmytro Bilotserkivts, who is Vitali Klitschko's closest associate.
