In Kyiv, a robber attacked a pensioner in an elevator: the attacker was arrested

In the capital, a 71-year-old pensioner was robbed in the elevator of a residential building. The intruder stole a bag with personal belongings from the man. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv.

Police operatives received a report from a 71-year-old pensioner that an unknown man grabbed a bag with things from him in the elevator cabin of the building.

"Operative employees of the unit, with the involvement of criminal analysis employees, searched for the intruder and seized the pensioner's bag from him," the message reads.

The 39-year-old perpetrator was detained and charged with 4 Art. 186 of the Criminal Code – robbery committed under martial law. For now, he will remain in custody while the investigation is ongoing. The perpetrator faces up to ten years in prison.
