In Kyiv, the situation with epidemiological diseases remains tense, and the authorities of the capital are taking measures to control and prevent the further spread of infections, including influenza and COVID-19. In the first week of 2024, more than 10,000 new cases of the disease have already been registered, while it is emphasized that half of them concern children. Unfortunately, ten adults died as a result of the disease.
The head of the Kyiv City Government, Serhii Popko, emphasized that the authorities are making all possible efforts to contain the epidemic, but also noted that an important component of protection is compliance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
The authorities of Kyiv issue a call to the residents of the city to adhere to the mask regime and actively get vaccinated. The main measure for protection against COVID-19 is a full course of three vaccinations, which, according to the announcement, will remain free of charge for all Ukrainians in 2024. You can get vaccinated at your family doctor or at vaccination points in medical institutions. Information about vaccination sites, their addresses and work hours can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Health or contact the contact center at 0 800 602019.
Currently, vaccination centers use the vaccines "Janssen" (manufacturer "Johnson & Johnson") and "Comirnaty" ("Pfizer"). Also available is a vaccine for children from 5 years of age (“Pfizer” – “Comirnaty” vaccine for children).
It is the general responsibility of every citizen to promote vaccination and compliance with the necessary safety measures. Government measures are aimed not only at controlling the epidemic, but also at preserving the health of the population. Joint efforts and responsibility of citizens can be decisive in overcoming this difficult situation.
