The heads of Kyiv educational institutions have been authorized to make decisions on the introduction of quarantine in schools and kindergartens. This decision will be made in case of exceeding epidemiological parameters among students in influenza and SARS. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Valentin Mondrievsky, adding that 4955 sick students were registered in the capital over the last week.
According to the new approach, school leaders will determine whether students need to translate distance learning or suspend the learning process in individual classes. They are responsible for the management, financial and economic and educational issues of the institution.
“The head of the educational institution carries out direct management of the institution and is responsible for its educational, financial and economic and other activities. It is he who makes a decision on quarantine, taking into account the epidemic situation in the team, ”Mordrievsky said.
He also asked the parents to refrain from sending children with signs of illness to school or kindergarten and urged to see a doctor in such cases.
As of today, the incidence rate in Kiev is 1.5 times lower than the epidemic threshold and is 515.7 per 100 thousand population. At the same time, the incidence among children increased by 2.3% - from 9468 to 9688, and among students the incidence rate decreased by 14.4%, from 5787 to 4955 cases.
In the last week, 324 people with influenza and SARS were hospitalized in the capital's hospitals, including 228 children. At the same time, 27 people became ill with the Covid-19, of whom 6 are children.
