A fire broke out in a 16th-floor building in Kyiv

A high-rise building was on fire in Kyiv. Firefighters managed to save three children and eight adults. It was not without casualties.

This is reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"The fire broke out in the switchboard of the 16-story residential building from the 1st to the 14th floor, and the electrical equipment in the basement also caught fire," the report says.

During the reconnaissance from the smoky building, units of the State Emergency Service rescued three children and eight adults.

"For the rescue, special high-altitude equipment of the State Emergency Service was also used. Three adults were treated at the scene. The preliminary diagnosis is an acute reaction to stress," the rescuers added.

The fire was extinguished in half an hour. The reason is being investigated.
