The possibility of mobilization of women in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is again at the center of public discussion. About it reports the German edition of Berliner Zeitung , citing a difficult situation at the front, stretched for more than 1200 km, and a growing lack of servicemen.
Against the background of high losses, desertion and limited reserves, the topic of attracting conscript age to the country's defense is increasingly raised in Kiev. Currently, it is only a discussion, but experts do not exclude that under certain conditions relevant decisions can be made in the near future.
The publication is reminded that discussions about women's participation in hostilities have been ongoing in Ukraine since the beginning of a full -scale invasion. As early as 2023, then the then Justice Minister Denis Masuska allowed for mobilization even among convicted women.
The head of the Air Intelligence Center Maria Berlinskaya also performed with a similar position. In her statements, she emphasized that the threat to the state is so large -scale that mobilization should be subject to all citizens, regardless of gender. "We have to fight all - both men and women," she stated in an interview.
To date, according to Ukrainian law, women of certain professions are already obliged to be on military accounting. At the same time, the issue of compulsory mobilization remains open and requires a separate political decision.
