In Kyiv, law enforcement officers have detained a suspect in the murder of a 38-year-old man whose body was found on tram tracks in the Podilskyi district. The perpetrator likely killed the victim due to jealousy and a conflict that arose between him, his roommate, and the victim.
The incident occurred on February 28, when at around 1:00 p.m., police received a report of a body found with signs of violent death near the “Pushcha-Vodytska 1” tram station. Law enforcement officers detained the suspect, a 59-year-old man, at the scene of the crime.
As it turned out during the investigation, the detainee witnessed a conflict between his roommate and the victim. Outraged by the situation and under the influence of jealousy, he decided to fatally stab his acquaintance in the chest. The victim died at the scene.
The case has been classified as premeditated murder, and the detainee has already been declared a suspect. The issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is currently being decided. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison.
