In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 19-year-old man who set off fireworks in the Desnyanskyi district, on the Lisovye massiv, explaining his actions by wishing his girlfriend a happy birthday. The incident occurred on December 27, when the police were notified of the launch of pyrotechnics, frightening local residents.
The police quickly identified the perpetrator. The guy explained that he wanted to surprise his girlfriend, but his act violated safety regulations, especially under martial law, when the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited.
A criminal case has been opened for hooliganism, and the issue of whether to report him to the police is currently being resolved. The young man faces up to five years of imprisonment.
