In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 19-year-old young man who set off fireworks in the Desnyan district, on the Forest Massif, explaining his actions as a wish to congratulate his girlfriend on her birthday. The incident took place on December 27, when a report about the launch of pyrotechnics reached the police, scaring local residents.
The police quickly established the identity of the violator. The guy explained that he wanted to make a surprise for his girlfriend in this way, but his act violates safety rules, especially in the conditions of martial law, when the use of pyrotechnics is prohibited.
Criminal proceedings were opened for hooliganism, and the issue of notifying him of suspicion is currently being resolved. Molodik faces up to five years of imprisonment.
