A batch of fresh Turkish-made pomegranates was brought to Ukraine, in which an excessive content of pesticides, exceeding the permissible standards, was found. The total number of infected fruits is 8,400 kg.
The head office of the State Production and Consumer Service in Kyiv reported that the products entered the country under customs control, but upon inspection it was found that they did not meet the requirements of Ukrainian legislation on food safety. Because of this, the grenades were withdrawn from circulation and destroyed to avoid their sale.
The state inspector of the department of border inspection control "Kyiv" took part in the destruction of a dangerous batch of Turkish grenades. The product, which contained an excessive level of pesticides, was discovered during an inspection carried out at the customs. As a result of the detection of violations, the grenades were not allowed for sale.
The State Production and Consumer Service drew attention to the importance of compliance with food safety requirements, stressing that dangerous products should not enter the market.

The State Production and Consumer Service called on market operators to carefully comply with food safety requirements in order to prevent dangerous goods from being sold.
