Mobile operator Kyivstar announced an increase in the cost of its tariff plans by an average of 25%.
This was reported by the company's press service in response to a request from the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
Mobile operator Kyivstar has announced a change in the cost of its services for some subscribers. On average, tariffs will increase by 25%. The increase applies to contract tariff plans and will be implemented in stages until the end of 2024.
Currently, the changes have affected tariffs such as “LOVE UA Light Contract 2023”, “YOUR Region”, “YOUR OPTIMUM”, Smart Max, “YOUR Premium” and “YOUR Premium+”. At the same time, the company is closing a number of outdated tariffs, including “YOUR Choice”, Smart, “Kyivstar 4G”, “Bezlim”, “Kyivstar 4G Extra+ 2018” and “LOVE UA Magnet Contract 2023”.
According to Kyivstar representatives, the increase in the cost of services is necessary due to a number of factors: the growth in mobile communication consumption, the difficult economic situation in the country, and the costs of ensuring uninterrupted network operation through alternative sources of electricity.
“Some tariff plans have not changed for over a year, and some have remained unchanged since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. The last time tariffs were adjusted was in April-May 2024,” the company noted.
The tariff review will allow Kyivstar to invest in network modernization, including the development of 4G and the construction of new base stations, as well as maintain energy sustainability and uninterrupted communication.
The company did not provide precise forecasts for its tariff policy for 2025, noting that “there are no specific dates or a list of tariffs that may change yet.”.
Let us remind you that a pilot project using 5G communication technology is launching in Ukraine, which will take place in several stages in three cities and will last two years.
