Frescoes appeared on the walls of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Lutsk, which attracted the attention of the public. Recently, famous Volyn businessmen were depicted on them, including the builder Victor Chernukha, the owner of the agricultural enterprise "Vilia" Yevhen Dudka, as well as Leontiy Ivanyshyn.
Cathedral icon painter, deacon Yuriy Hetmanchuk said that the first images were created six months ago.
However, the icon painter admitted that some of the patrons' frescoes "caused conflicting reviews", so they had to be redone.
According to him, the list of patrons for the image was provided as a recommendation by the head of the Volyn Diocese of the OCU, Metropolitan Mykhailo of Lutskyi and Volynskyi. In total, there were 12 people on the list.
After the scandal that broke out, the businessmen depicted on the murals also commented on the situation. They assure that they did not give their consent for the use of their persons.
