The Frankivsk District Court of Lviv issued a sentence of Nazar Yaremi, who tried to reinstate the third group of disability for bribery through mediators. For trying to bribe the employees of the medical and social expert commission (MSEC), the man was fined UAH 18.7 thousand.
As the investigation was established, in July 2024, a corruption scheme was established at the Frankivsk Inter-district MSEC of the Lviv Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise. Its organizers were not established by the commission officials, who promised to establish or continue their disability for monetary remuneration. The former employee of the State Tax Service and another accomplice were involved in the implementation of this scheme.
In September, Nazar Yarema appealed to these persons to extend his third disability group. The former taxman said it would cost $ 5,000. The man agreed, passed the examination, received a certificate and handed money to mediators. He was detained by law enforcement officers immediately.
During the investigation, Yarema pleaded guilty and concluded an agreement with the prosecutor. Judge Vasyl Kuz found the man guilty of providing an illegal benefit to an employee (Part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and imposed a fine of UAH 18,700.
The investigation into the former taxman and his accomplice continues separately. The sentence on Nazar Yarema can still be appealed on appeal.
