In the Poltava region, the police identified a group of minors involved in beating a boy in the basement of one of the residential buildings. The incident caused a wide response in the region, and as a result of the incident, law enforcement officers opened criminal proceedings under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("Hooliganism"). The police in Horishnyi Plavnyi reportedly received a report from a local resident that her minor son was injured by a group of people in the basement of a residential building.
As reported in the network, the video of the incident was posted on social networks.
According to the police, the injured boy was examined by medics. He is currently undergoing treatment.
The police, as indicated, identified the persons involved in the offense. "They turned out to be local minors," the police reported.
Criminal proceedings opened under Part 2 of Article 296 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine are being investigated for this fact.
The sanction of the article provides for restriction of freedom for a term of up to five years or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to four years.
