The Russian occupiers seek to restore the positions they held by mid-2023. Military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov notes that the enemy is trying to destroy bridgeheads north of Urozhainy and in the Robotyny area in order to stabilize the front line.
Russian President Vladimir Putin intends to establish control over six Ukrainian regions, including Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia. According to Seleznyov, Putin wants to make these regions officially recognized territories of Russia.
The expert also believes that Russia will postpone the issue of mobilization until the fall, hoping to stabilize the front and freeze the conflict. In the coming months, the Russians plan to focus their efforts on the Zaporizhia region.
Military analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko adds that by the end of the year the Armed Forces will be mostly on the defensive, and Pokrovsky and Toretsky will be the main areas of attack. He predicts that the Toretsk agglomeration will become the key point of the enemy's offensive campaign in 2024.
Kovalenko also notes that the enemy will try to take control of the Kramatorsk direction and Chasiv Yar in order to launch an offensive on Kostyantynivka in 2025. In addition, the occupiers will advance through the southern territories of Ukraine with the aim of reaching the left bank of the Oskil River, capturing Vovchansk and gaining a foothold in the Lyptsi region.
