As part of the modernization of educational infrastructure in the capital, the active implementation of video surveillance systems and digital technologies in schools continues. According to KSCA Deputy Chairman Valentin Mondrievsky, by the end of the year, about 1,000 CCTV cameras are planned to be installed in the educational institutions of Pechersk and Dniprovsky districts.
According to Mondrievsky, surveillance cameras, as well as a reliable Internet and Wi-Fi in shelters are the basis of a modern safe educational environment, which should guarantee the tranquility of parents and ensure the effectiveness of the educational process.
Currently, 1 319 survey chambers, 123 devices with faces and 13 chambers in kindergartens have already been installed in the capital's schools. Obolon district (47 schools and 55 kindergartens) and Desnyansky (53 schools and 69 kindergartens) can boast the largest number of institutions covered by security systems.
Digital transformation also covers other aspects: 396 Kiev schools already have access to the optical Internet, 71 schools are equipped with Wi-Fi, and 391 shelters are provided with online communications, which is critical in times of constant threat of air alarm.
“Today, security and digital accessibility are not a privilege, but a need. We will continue to improve the technical equipment of our schools so that children study in conditions that correspond to the realities of wartime, ”Mordrievsky said.
The city government emphasizes that the development of security systems and digital technologies in schools will remain a priority in the future, especially given the security situation in the country.
