In the city of Shostka, Sumy Oblast, a curious incident occurred with unexpected financial losses. Employees of the communal service took a package containing 6,000 euros to the landfill. The reason is that the money seemed like a souvenir to them. This was reported by the local edition of Shostka.INFO .
Journalists learned from their own sources that on January 16, in the central part of the city, utility workers, while cleaning up garbage, found a package with euro bills. However, not believing their eyes, people decided that it was souvenir money, so the package was simply taken to the landfill along with other garbage.
Soon the owner of the package appeared, which, as it turned out, contained 6,000 real euros. The man turned to the utility workers, and they told him where to look for his loss.
"As a result, the man went to the landfill, where, rummaging through the trash, he safely found his package with 6,000 rubles. euro. They say that he gave 1,000 hryvnias each to honest utility workers as a sign of gratitude," the publication says.
The journalists turned to the local police, but there they reported that they had not received any claims about the loss of the money bag.
