The State Bureau of Investigation continues to investigate the F-16 fighter crash, which occurred on August 26, 2024 during a large-scale air attack by Russia. The incident was killed by Ukrainian pilot Alexei Mes. This is stated in the DBR answer to the information request of the Hromadske edition.
Currently, a number of examinations are ongoing in the open criminal proceedings, in particular:

Commodity.
In total, 11 examinations are conducted, the results of which should answer the questions about the technical causes of the accident, a possible mistake of a person or system, as well as about the presence or absence of responsibility by officials.
"The final conclusions about the causes of the catastrophe and possible liability will be formed after all the examinations and analysis of the evidence collected," the DBR noted.
We will remind, the tragedy occurred during the air combat, when the Ukrainian air forces reflected a massive rocket-morning attack of Russia. Then Captain Alexei Mesa knocked three hostile rockets and one drone. His aircraft, F-16, subsequently suffered critical damage and crashed. The pilot was heroically died, protecting the sky of Ukraine.
