Up to eight years in prison can be obtained by a resident of Sumy who robbed the victim during a Russian rocket strike. As reported in the city prosecutor's office, an indictment against a 45-year-old man was sent to the court, whose actions were qualified as a theft committed in martial law and regarding a person who was in a helpless state.
According to the investigation, the incident happened on April 13, 2025, when the amounts were another attack by the Russian army. The accused was at the scene immediately after the blow. Instead of helping the victims, he saw a mobile phone near one of the wounded and appropriated it using the owner was helpless.
The prosecutor's office notes that by his actions the man showed special cynicism against the background of tragedy, which required solidarity and humanity.
The accused is under investigation, and if he is proved in court, he is threatened with up to 8 years in prison.
