A new but extremely dangerous trend has started in the TikTok social network, which can lead to serious injuries and even life-threatening injuries. Children and teenagers en masse create videos demonstrating how to make homemade firecrackers. Videos with detailed "instructions" quickly spread among young people, drawing attention to the reckless experiment.
This is reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
A dangerous challenge actively spreading on TikTok has already caused serious injuries to children. Within this trend, teenagers make homemade firecrackers, often ignoring the risks. Law enforcement officers stress: the consequences can be catastrophic.
"Doctors note that such injuries as chemical burns, scars on the face and hands can remain for life. In some cases, long-term treatment will be required," the police warn.
Tips for children:
- Do not repeat dangerous actions from social networks. Your life and health are more important than any "likes" or views.
- If friends offer to join such challenges, say "no" and tell the adults.
- Tell your teachers or parents if you know someone is planning to do dangerous experiments.
Tips for parents:
- Keep an eye on what videos and challenges your child is watching.
- Explain that popularity in social networks is not worth risking life or health.
- Have open and trusting conversations with children about the dangers.
In Lviv, due to this dangerous trend, three boys were hospitalized with deep chemical burns on their faces. They tried to make a firecracker using a tutorial from TikTok.
Law enforcement officers urge you not to stay away if you witnessed such incidents or know about the spread of dangerous challenges. In such cases, call the police immediately on 102.
We will remind, TikTok will become the main sponsor of the inauguration party of Donald Trump, having spent $50 thousand. Sponsorship contributions at the event range from $10,000 to $50,000. In addition to TikTok, sponsors include Kalshi and the American Conservation Coalition.
