US President Special Representative Donald Trump for Ukraine Kit Kelloggus became the first representative of the new American administration to respond publicly to Russia's latest massive strikes in Ukraine.
In a post on the Twitter platform, Kellogg published a photo of Kiev in fire and sharply condemned the actions of Russian troops, calling them "a clear violation of the 1977 Geneva Protocols."
"This is Kiev. The non -chief murder of women and children at night in their homes is a clear violation of the Geneva Protocols, called to protect innocent people. These attacks are shameful. Stop killing. The ceasefire is immediately," Kellogo wrote.
His position focuses on the need for a speedy ceasefire, which coincides with the more restrained line of Trump's administration on war in Ukraine.
At the same time, another representative of the Republican Party, the Congressman Don Beacon, called for radically opposite actions - the maximum strengthening of Ukraine's support. According to him, the US and allies should "equip Ukraine with teeth", impose the most rigid sanctions against Russia and confiscate $ 300 billion of frozen Russian assets.
In response to attacks, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also called on the international community, including the United States, not to remain silent and to increase pressure on the Kremlin.
