In September, the procedure for assigning subsidies will change

In September 2024, Ukrainians will receive a housing subsidy for the last month of the non-heating season. Most citizens can count on automatic allocation of payments, provided that their data on property status or household composition has not changed. However, there are certain exceptions, when the subsidy will be assigned only after a personal application with relevant documents.

Who needs to apply to the Pension Fund

Certain categories of citizens must submit an application and a declaration of income and expenses to the Pension Fund in order to receive a subsidy in September:

  1. Tenants of housing : If the applicant or a member of his household rents housing and pays housing and communal services, the subsidy will be assigned only upon application.
  2. Internally displaced persons : If there are internally displaced persons in the household, it is necessary to submit an application for receiving a subsidy.
  3. Reduction in the number of residents : If the number of people actually living in the household is less than the number registered, the subsidy can be received only after applying.
  4. Subsidy for the purchase of fuel : Households claiming a subsidy for the purchase of liquefied gas, solid or liquid household stove fuel must also apply.

In addition, the application is necessary for those who were assigned a subsidy for the heating season in the amount of UAH 0.

Simplification of the subsidy allocation process

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced changes that significantly simplify the process of assigning subsidies. In particular, unnecessary bureaucracy in the interaction between the Pension Fund and associations of co-owners of apartment buildings has been eliminated. This is intended to speed up the application processing process and make it more convenient for citizens.

New support program for war victims

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is working on creating a new support program for people who were forced to leave their homes because of the war. The program provides for the introduction of a housing rental subsidy for families whose rental costs exceed 30% of the total household income. After the government approves the program, it will be possible to apply for a subsidy online through the Pension Fund's electronic cabinet.

The pension fund will be able to independently process most applications due to integration with other government agencies, which will make the process of receiving a subsidy faster and more transparent.
