For more than two years, Ukraine has been forced to resist Russia's aggression on its territory, but the question of having a clear strategy for ending the war remains relevant.
According to analysts, the West only has elements of tactics regarding the military conflict in Ukraine, but there is no coherent strategy aimed at achieving a peaceful solution, political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko believes.
The West remains a key ally of Ukraine. "Our allies have developed elements of tactics and response to this or that situation at the front. It is possible to single out two fairly clear guidelines that guide the West. They were recently voiced by Joe Biden. The first is not to allow Ukraine to lose, but to help in such a way as to avoid a direct confrontation with Russia. The second is to prevent Russia from using nuclear weapons. But as for the strategy for achieving sustainable peace, it is absent. At least, in the public space, we do not hear anything about the existence of such a strategy," said Volodymyr Fesenko.
The political scientist noted that, as of now, there is an aspiration to level the situation at the front at the expense of European and American aid, but the question of how to enter into peace negotiations without at least a partial victory and significant successes of Ukraine remains open.
According to the results of the survey, 57% of Russian citizens allow the possibility of a new world war. According to a survey by the Russian Field research group, 71% of Russians named the USA as the main opponent of the Russian Federation in a potential global conflict. Great Britain (40%), France (39%), Germany, Poland and the Baltic countries were also included in the list of opponents.
Only 12% of Russians see Ukraine as an enemy. The respondents named China (58%), Belarus (48%), Iran (21%) and North Korea (20%) as the main allies of Russia in the world war.
