The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi defined new tasks for brigade commanders. According to the directive of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, each brigade commander must now create a full-time recruiting unit. This step, as stated in the message on the official Facebook page of the General Staff, will contribute to the improvement of the organization and support of volunteer recruitment activities.
According to information, the innovation will be an important stage in the process of recruiting volunteers, as it will allow brigade commanders to directly control the recruitment process and ensure effective work with potential servicemen. This approach will make it possible to quickly respond to the army's needs for new personnel.
It should be noted that on October 1, 2024, an amendment was made to the Resolution of the Government of Ukraine dated May 16, 2024 No. 560, which allows commanders of military units to recruit volunteers directly to their units, without going to territorial recruiting centers. This changed the structure of recruiting, giving more autonomy to the command to accept new soldiers.
Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine already had recruiting centers in various branches of the military, such as the Ground Forces, the Naval Forces, the Airborne Assault Forces, the Special Operations Forces, and territorial defense. They continue their work, improving their recruiting strategies and expanding their capabilities.
For her part, Kateryna Chornohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Digital Development, reported that over 5,000 applications were submitted through the Reserve+ service in two weeks. applications from Ukrainians. Among the most popular vacancies are UAV operators, as well as work in intelligence and headquarters. This emphasizes the high interest in service among citizens, especially in such important areas as defense and intelligence.
Thus, new initiatives of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and changes in legislation will be able to ensure more effective mobilization and recruitment of the necessary personnel to the ranks of the Ukrainian army, which is an important aspect for strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
