In the Chernobyl zone, the exclusion continues to eliminate the fire that arose as a result of the impact of the Russian drone on the sarcophagus of the fourth power unit of the Chernobyl. According to Svetlana Grinchuk, the Minister of Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the fire covered the external cladding of the arch of the new safe confinement (NBC) .
The ministry assured that the radiation situation is under control:
“The output of radioactive products beyond the established boundaries has not been detected. There is no threat to the population. All safety technological systems and systems operate in regular mode. ”
Updated . The State Agency of Ukraine for Management of the Exclusion Zone reported that extinguishing the fire of the external cladding of the sarcophagus is extinguishing:
“There are 3 trunks at a height of 87 m with subsequent wetting of the insulation and membrane. Verkholazes are carried out for partial opening of structures and filling the voids with extinguishing agents under the roof of the building ... The deterioration of the radiation situation on the industrial site as a whole is not recorded. The exit of radioactive products beyond the established boundaries has not been detected. ”
The SESU noted that the work of rescuers is complicated by the minus temperature, snow and the freezing of the structure:
“Rescuers work directly outside the protective structure - at a height of more than 100 meters. The air is constantly monitored. The radiation background at the Chernobyl Industrial Playground does not exceed the permissible values. ”
Earlier, the State Agency of Ukraine for Management of the Exclusion Zone reported that as of 13:30, “localized centers of corruption of the anti -radiation membrane on an area of 60 m2, there is a partial liquidation on an area of 20 m2”.
"Due to the extent of the fire, the personnel of the enterprise enterprises do not require additional radiation safety measures," the department said.
