Ukraine and France signed a Joint Declaration on the creation of the “Unity Hub”, which will provide support to Ukrainians abroad and facilitate their return to their homeland.
This was announced by the Minister of National Unity of Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov, following a meeting with the Minister of the Interior of France, François-Noël Buffet, dedicated to the issues of reception and integration of temporarily displaced Ukrainians.
What does the initiative entail?
The “Unity Center” will become a platform for legal, social and humanitarian support for Ukrainians in France, as well as help those planning to return to Ukraine.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed:
-
Continuation of temporary protection for Ukrainians in France.
-
Prospects for the return of refugees to their homeland and the conditions for their adaptation.
-
Support in the field of medicine and education for Ukrainians in France.
-
Recognition of Ukrainian driver's licenses, which will greatly simplify life for those who were forced to leave Ukraine.
-
Employment and social adaptation opportunities for Ukrainians in France.
“France has provided shelter to tens of thousands of our citizens, and we highly appreciate this assistance. We hope that it will continue until the war is completely over,” emphasized Oleksiy Chernyshov.
Return of Ukrainians home
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the allocation of 150 million hryvnias for the program of returning Ukrainian refugees from abroad. This will be an additional incentive for those who want to return to their homeland, but need financial or social support.
