Next week, Ukraine is likely to reintroduce power outage schedules due to hot weather, which could significantly increase electricity consumption. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Svitlana Grinchuk during the broadcast of the “United News” telethon.
Svitlana Grinchuk noted that the predicted increase in temperature may lead to an increase in electricity consumption, which in turn may prompt energy companies to return to the use of outage schedules. In this regard, she called on citizens to use electricity economically, especially during peak load periods, such as morning and evening hours. It is recommended to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances and air conditioners, if possible.
“What we will observe next week may lead to the fact that energy companies will have to apply outage schedules,” Grinchuk noted.
The Ministry of Energy also called on businesses to actively import electricity, which, according to the department, will help avoid potential restrictions in electricity supply.
In addition, Grinchuk reported that repair work on energy facilities damaged by enemy attacks is ongoing throughout the country. Consumers must maintain the stability of the energy system through rational use of electricity.
Recall that on August 8, electricity for the population was subject to restrictions for some time only for industry.
