The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has identified joint defense production with Sweden as a priority for the country. He made this statement during the “Society and Defense” conference. Zelensky noted that Ukraine has always strived to be one of the most significant European security donors and stressed the need to have access to the best weapons and equipment in the world. Joint production with Sweden is a strategic priority for Ukraine.
The President also expressed gratitude to Sweden for its contribution to Ukraine's defense support, noting that the provided equipment and weapons are already helping to save the lives of soldiers.
Speaking about other initiatives, Zelensky noted that Ukraine has already begun joint defense activities with other countries, such as Turkey, Romania, Poland, and the United Kingdom. Agreements on cooperation have also been reached with the Czech Republic, the United States, and Germany.
In the context of combating Russian aggression, Zelensky stressed the importance of a unified European arms industry. He also expressed hope that the efforts of international allies would help Ukraine in combating potential Russian aggression, which could also be directed against NATO countries.
