Ukraine is ready to fulfill Hungary's demands regarding national minorities within the framework of the European integration process. Deputy Prime Minister-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna reported on Ukraine's commitment to fulfill 11 proposals put forward by Hungary regarding national minorities.
"Ukraine is committed to the full implementation of these proposals as part of our path to the European Union," she emphasized.
However, permanent restrictions on the Russian language among the rights of national minorities, introduced by the Council, remain a subject of debate. The European Commission "For Democracy through Law" (Venice Commission) has expressed comments on the duration of these restrictions, which is one of the conditions for Ukraine's accession to the EU.
The full implementation of these obligations will be included in the general process of European integration of Ukraine, while negotiations with Hungary will be of key importance.
