On January 9, a pre-premiere screening of the ironic detective film "La Palisade", directed by Filip Sotnychenko, which tells the story of the Ukrainian 90s, took place. According to information published on the official Facebook page of the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the film will receive its all-Ukrainian premiere on January 11, 2024.
The film is set in 1996, five months before the death penalty was abolished. The two main characters, a police detective and a forensic psychiatrist, investigate the murder of their colleague. Although the case is quickly closed, they are left with many unanswered questions.
One of the main questions around which the plot revolves is what “La Palisade” means in the investigator's expert opinion.
The film promises answers to these burning questions in a Ukrainian detective story that promises to shake up Europe. It was created with the support of the State Film Agency of Ukraine, as well as the film companies “VIATEL” and “Modern Ukrainian Cinema”.
