Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has received two more air defense systems, which, according to him, are capable of “shooting down everything.” This came after months of intense efforts at various levels to ensure the country’s security. The president announced this in a video address.
Although Zelensky did not specify from which country these air defense systems were obtained, it was previously announced that cooperation in this direction with Germany was being discussed. In a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the president discussed the issue of further strengthening the Ukrainian air defense system, in particular the IRIS-T and Patriot systems.
Although the new air defense systems do not yet provide full protection for Ukraine, Zelensky emphasized that work on this continues daily.
Ukraine is waging a defensive struggle against Russian aggression , which includes regular attacks by Russian forces with various types of weapons, including missiles, drones, and rocket-artillery fire. Since the beginning of the year, in January alone, Russia has launched more than 330 missiles and approximately 600 strike drones into Ukrainian territory, resulting in a significant number of civilian casualties.
Despite evidence and testimony, Moscow denies its involvement in the shelling of civilian targets in Ukraine. Ukraine continues to fight for its independence and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression.
