Electricity consumption in Ukraine remains high, but recent data indicate a gradual decline. According to NPC Ukrenergo, the trend towards a decrease in electricity consumption has become noticeable, despite the persistence of hot weather, which traditionally increases the demand for electricity.
On September 1, the daily maximum of electricity consumption was recorded as 3.2% lower compared to the previous weekend, August 31. This indicates the beginning of a reduction in the load on the country's energy system. As of September 2, electricity consumption is already 3.7% lower compared to the same time on the previous working day, August 30.
In the current high air temperatures persisting in most regions of Ukraine, state measures to limit consumption will remain in effect throughout Monday. This helps control the load on the energy infrastructure.
Regarding electricity imports, imports from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova are planned to total 11,972 MWh. At the same time, electricity exports from Ukraine are currently not being carried out.
The decrease in consumption may be due to the gradual decrease in hot weather and efforts to manage electricity consumption. The situation requires further monitoring to ensure the stability of the country's energy system in the face of changing demand.
