A draft law on the creation of defense companies in Ukraine to ensure employment of military personnel after demobilization has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the text of draft law No. 11214, an international defense company is defined as a Ukrainian company that provides defense services abroad and participates in the defense of the territory.
The activities of such companies and their personnel will be limited to the territories of regions adjacent to the Russian border. Only residents of Ukraine can be founders.
To control their activities, it is proposed to create a State Service of International Defense Companies, which will be accountable to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
The explanatory notes to the bill indicate that it is aimed at rehabilitating demobilized military personnel and meeting the needs for rapid response teams to protect the territory. The authors of the law cite the positive experience of the United States and other countries in increasing control over armed citizens and creating new jobs.
