Ukrainian specialists are actively working on creating anti-aircraft missile systems capable of destroying hypersonic targets, in particular Russian missiles of the Kinzhal and Zircon types. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palis in an interview with the Azerbaijani Report agency.
According to him, some of these developments have already passed combat testing. Currently, efforts are aimed at creating technologies capable of neutralizing not only hypersonic, but also ballistic and aeroballistic missiles.
In parallel, Ukraine is developing effective and relatively inexpensive means of countering kamikaze drones, primarily “Shaheeds.” Some of them are in the final stages of testing and will soon be used in real combat conditions.
Palisa also reported that almost half of the Armed Forces' needs for weapons are already met by domestic production - independently or in the format of joint projects with international partners. The government is ready to expand production capacities in cooperation with allies.
Against this background, according to Palisa, Ukraine is carefully analyzing changes in the volume of foreign aid. In particular, the recent delay in supplies from the United States has become a serious signal for the authorities. At the same time, the country has a strategy for actions in the event of a decrease in external support, which includes the development of independent defense production.
In the context of a peaceful resolution of the conflict, the Ukrainian side declares its readiness for negotiations, but excludes the possibility of surrender terms. The last round of talks in Istanbul focused on humanitarian issues - the exchange of prisoners, the transfer of the bodies of the dead and the return of abducted children. No agreement on a ceasefire was reached.
According to Palisa, the Russian side continues to insist on unacceptable conditions that do not correspond to the real situation on the front.
