Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga said the country is not ready to make territorial concessions in exchange for peace with Russia. This confirmation was made in an interview published in a Ukrainian media outlet, and became a clear signal of Ukraine's position regarding future negotiations with Russia.
"There will be no compromises on our territorial integrity, sovereignty, or future security. We need to eliminate gray areas as Russia turns them into zones of influence. Instead, we need geopolitical certainty regarding Ukraine as part of the Euro-Atlantic community," the Foreign Minister said in Malta, where the OSCE summit is taking place.
According to him, Kyiv's peace plan ultimately involves "Russia leaving Ukraine and leaving us alone.".
Sibiga also stated that there would be no compromises on "future security," apparently alluding to Ukraine's demand to be admitted to NATO following the war.
Recall that the other day, President Zelensky said the opposite - that Ukraine is ready to end the war on the front line without returning the captured territories in exchange for NATO membership.
