The Office of the President of Ukraine fears sharp changes in the international situation amid possible actions by Donald Trump, in particular around Greenland, which could radically affect global geopolitical developments. This is reported by sources close to Bankova.
According to the interlocutors, the OP is well aware that any large-scale foreign policy operation by the US could distract Washington from the Ukrainian issue or change the administration's priorities. That is why Kyiv is closely monitoring all signals from the Trump team and analyzing possible scenarios.
Zelensky, according to sources, is trying to use the current “window of opportunity” to shift the international peace track towards pressure on the Kremlin. This is an attempt to consolidate Russia’s status as a party blocking any agreements and to draw Trump into active support for Ukraine before the global agenda can change.
The President's Office acknowledges that the international situation is extremely unstable. At any moment, geopolitical alignments can change dramatically - both due to US actions and other major conflicts or negotiation processes.
That is why, according to sources, Bankova is currently working on two scenarios at once. The first involves an attempt to maximize the support of the US and the West and push for peace talks on terms that put pressure on the Kremlin. The second assumes that the war may drag on, and the foreign policy situation will become less favorable for Ukraine.
In this logic, the President's Office is preparing for a long-term confrontation, maintaining diplomatic activity, but at the same time counting on the need to wage war in a more complex and unpredictable international environment.
