The first official meetings between Ukrainian representatives and the team of newly elected US President Donald Trump will take place in Washington in early February 2025. The negotiations will take place as part of the “Ukrainian Week”, which is scheduled for February 3–8.
This was stated by the leader of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
As Arakhamia reported, we are talking about "contacts", not the negotiation process.
“In early February, there will be a “Ukrainian Week” in Washington. I think that the main processes, the main negotiations with the new Trump team, will actually take place there, so we are waiting,” said David Arakhamia.
“Ukrainian Week” will be held from February 3 to 8, 2025. The event is organized to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. The program will include meetings, roundtables, and forums with the participation of representatives of both countries. The main topics of discussion are partnership in the fields of security, economy, and democracy.
This advocacy week will be an important platform for establishing contacts with the new US administration and identifying priorities for further cooperation.
As a reminder, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 20, temporarily suspending all US foreign assistance programs for 90 days.
