Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov said that Ukraine is counting on a major prisoner exchange by Easter. According to him, the negotiation process is ongoing, and new exchanges are a matter of time.
He announced this during a speech on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the creation of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Budanov stressed that work on the return of Ukrainians from captivity is ongoing daily, and negotiations on this issue are ongoing. He expressed hope that a large-scale exchange will be organized by Easter.
According to the official, the process of returning the prisoners is under the personal control of the President of Ukraine. In addition, international partners, including the United States of America and the United Arab Emirates, are actively involved in the negotiations.
The Ukrainian side emphasizes that it continues to use all possible diplomatic and negotiation tools to release its citizens. It is expected that the following exchanges could become one of the largest during the entire full-scale war.
